His work is in the collection of the Asheville Art Museum and in many private and public installations. Although he works primarily in forged steel, non-ferrous metals like copper, brass, bronze and aluminum are also used. DeKoven studied at Antioch College and at Turley School of Blacksmithing in Santa-Fe.
