Playing with similar symbols, motifs, and designs allows for me to explore an undercurrent theme of appreciation to emulate the beauty of natural phenomena. By studying archaic methods, imagery, symbols and codes, I seek to transcend time and space back into another realm of lost knowledge. Through the carving each pattern by hand, to replication of certain periodic pottery or cultural shapes causes me to immerse myself into another world. This utilization of traditional methods allows for me to reconnect with our ancient roots in ceramics.
