Collection: Marie-Helene L. Grabman
I learned the art of schreneschnitte from my German grandmother. Although I have a background in graphic art and communications, traditional scissor cutting is not taught in this country. My work, like all of the traditional “folk arts”, was self-taught. My style is reflective of the Swiss-German technique, but often employing American themes. I am an exhibiting member of several Guilds: Piedmont Craftsmen, Inc. Winston-Salem, NC; The Pennsylvania Guild of Craftsmen; and the Guild of American Paper cutters.
