"My work reflects my response to life, which is constantly flowing and changing. My imagery comes from stored-up visual experience. I absorb my subject; forms are etched in my mind more from observation than from sketching. My purpose is to penetrate the inner reality of my subject matter, to capture its essence, and then to translate it onto paper in the most suitable media."
