Exquisite woods are the basis of my work. Pieces are functional furniture or based on furniture forms using whimsical themes, word play & often making metaphorical statements. The shaping & carving that characterizes my work is done with power saws, grinders, sanders, carvers & chisels, refined with manual tools & meticulous hand work. Color is added with transparent dyes to accent & contrast with natural wood enhancing the whimsical statement. Hand rubbed finish, usually lacquer, completes the piece.
