Wood
Spruce Pine, NC | Exhibiting Since 2018
I successfully “paint” with wood using the limited color pallet of exotic and native veneers to depict recognizable scenes and objects. I use the flaws that I see in the veneers to help create illusions in my pictures. All work is done with a scroll saw and vintage equipment from furniture factories. Most, but not all, of my native hardwoods and exotic veneers have come from the scrap bins of local furniture factories and donations from other marquetarians.
