From the breaking waves on the East Coast to the desert South West and the volcanic islands in the Pacific, with a quick stop in Rosedale, Mississippi for hot tamales, in the last thirty-odd years I have filled over forty bound sketch books while traveling across the United States. These experiences inspire and inform a new series of small wall sculptures, I’m calling “Sketches in Metal”. Some of the thousands of drawings that I produced are now being realized in a diverse series of unique, low relief, wall pieces using contrasting metals and overlapping forms. Wired and ready to hang, indoors or out.
