Collection: Lynda Sanders & Beverly Dawson

Fiber
Durham, NC | Exhibiting Since 1996
Lynda and Beverly began collaborating in 1993, each bringing to the partnership many years of sewing experience and a love of surface design and detail. Traditional motifs in Asian art, such as the kimono, fan and objects in nature translate into their designs, as well as the Asian use of asymmetry and expressive negative space. Their images capture the beauty of the natural world: bare branches against a winter sky, water drops on new spring leaves, dragonflies flickering in the sun. Their designs are inspired by a variety of silk fabrics that are unequaled for color saturation, subtle textures and versatility. Together, they call on an intuitive creative flow of ideas, choosing elements that complement the fabric and design.
