Max creates both functional & sculptural, naturally glazed ceramics inspired by archeology, geology, and the wood firing process. The work is unglazed and fired for 60-110 hours in a wood fired train kiln using exclusively local North Carolina clays. The pots are unglazed and fired in Winston Salem for a minimum of 3 days to promote the development of natural ash effects and flashing. The pieces are one of a kind and highly functional.
