Geneva Puryear is a printmaker and illustrator based in Swannanoa working in hand-carved relief printmaking, experimental tree ring prints, and monoprints hand-pulled directly from downed trees. Rooted in traditional printmaking processes, her work emphasizes bold contrast, dynamic texture, and movement while exploring gesture, symbolism, and the relationship between human experience and the natural world. Bridging graphic imagery with organic natural patterns, Geneva’s practice is grounded in handwork, material exploration, and the tactile, physical qualities of traditional printmaking.
