Asheville, NC | Provisional Artist 2026
As a ceramic artist I find aesthetic pleasure in organic forms and tactile patterns. My pieces begin with a wheel thrown or hand-built base which I use as my canvas. I consider how each piece will be held and interacted with during this stage. Each form created is a unique partnership between traditional forms and a range of sculpted elements, carved details, underglaze painting, and hand painted glaze. My creative process is approached with an intuitive mark-making style. The flora and fauna depicted is captured with my artistic sentimentalized perspective of the subject matter. While underglazing, I combine and layer colors and line inspired by impressionist and polish folk art painting techniques.
