Susan Spies is a jewelry designer and metalsmith who, with her late husband Klaus, moved from Berlin to Chicago in 1999 where they started Spies Design, a craft jewelry brand based on ancient goldsmithing principles. They settled in Asheville in 2008, crafting superb sleek jewelry designs. Susan continues the legacy of Spies Design, following the iconic, expressive design path that Klaus trailblazed — bold shapes, natural stones, stunning colors — and upholding the standards superb craftsmanship in primarily 18k gold and sterling silver with precious gemstones.
