Terra Incognita is an enameled necklace created as a companion piece to Terra Infirma. Layers of enamel suggest shifting terrain, microscopic forms, weather patterns, or unknown topographies, while the suspended setting —adapted from an earlier hand-formed jewelry series — acts as a structural framework that both contains and exposes the central form. The title references the historical cartographic phrase for “unknown land”, but here the unknown becomes bodily and ecological rather than geographic. Like the garment, the piece considers mapping as a process of interpretation, connection, and uncertainty rather than fixed description.
