This garment began with a single printed field of fabric layered through gel printing, stitching, and repeated marks suggestive of mapping systems, cellular structures, and fragmented genetic code. After construction, the form was twisted around the body's vertical axis and held in tension with hand and machine stitching that echoes both repair and structural strain. The work reflects on instability - of landscape, body, identity, and the systems we use to understand them. Referencing cartography without depicting a literal map, Terra Infirma explores uncertain terrain through material transformation, distortion, and visible evidence of the hand.
